Acting Assessments

We rated the acting skills of the third grade students in our classroom on various acting skills, such as vocal projection and creativity. Once I receive all of the acting assessments from the Breck students who are in the Performance and Social Change class with me, I will be able to establish a baseline for the acting skills of the third graders. We'll rate their acting skills again in the spring to see areas in which the students have improved or areas where the students still need to improve.

A week from today, I'll work with the Neighborhood Bridges team to code discussions the third graders had a few weeks ago about Cinderella. We're hoping to better understand the listening and comprehension skills of the third graders.

Since we have Thanksgiving break this week, I won't see the third graders for another week and a half. I'm looking forward to seeing the students again however. Once we return to their school, we'll work with them on producing a 10 minute play based on a story they've read and discussed. The students have the freedom to adapt the story as they choose. I'm excited to see the story they choose and hope to see them band together to create the play. The students don't write down a script, so they'll really have to understand the story well in order to perform their piece.
