Program Coordinator Contact

"Math Research isn't about knowing the right answers, it's about asking the right questions.  As a teacher, it's liberating to learn alongside my students.  Frankly, I'm in awe of them."

Brad Kohl is the mathematics instructor who coordinates the Advanced Mathematics Research Program.  He has been teaching for over 20 years and has been an innovator in his field from creating a math-science all-day block program at an alternative high school in Casper, Wyoming to creating a course about using mathematics as a lens to explore contemporary social issues at Breck School, a college prep school in Minneapolis.  Mr. Kohl is a winner of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (1997) and is a veteran presenter at numerous national conferences such as NCTM, ISACS, and others, as well as local events.  His topics range from Math Along the Oregon Trail to Asperger Syndrome.  He is also active in service learning and multicultural work at his school.
